Jason Quin

Jason Quin is a practitioner and student of Chi Gung and several internal and external martial arts including Ba gua Zhang, Hsing I Chuan, and Tai Chi Chuan.

His present external ranks include; 4th Dan black belt in Ryu Kyu Kempo Karate and 3rd Dan black belts in Small Circle Jujitsu and Tae Kwan Do.

Jason is the only certified Energy Arts, Inc. instructor living and teaching in North Carolina. Energy Arts, Inc and the Taoist lineage master B.K.Frantzis certify him as an instructor of the Taoist breathing techniques of 'Longevity Breathing' and the chi gung sets 'Opening the Energy Gates of the Body' and 'The Marriage of Heaven and Earth'.

Jason has taught professionally in the NC, Triangle Area for more than 16 years to hundreds of students. He directed the United Martial Arts Center, 2005 2006 2007. Jason offers several instruction options suited to fit different levels of interest, time, ability and privacy. He is dedicated to teaching energetic arts in a casual environment for the purposes of health and relaxation.

Instruction

Jason offers several levels of martial arts instruction to private groups and individuals. These include the art of self-defense, the creative process of form interpretation and consulting regarding self-defense curriculum development. He incorporates a healthy approach to the martial arts with the client’s longevity in mind.

Group Lessons

Suggested for beginning and intermediate students. Group classes meet once a week and are held at the International Martial Arts Academy in Raleigh, NC. Jason charges the rate of $60.00 per month for group lessons.

Private Lessons

Provided for advanced students, special attention and touch-up sessions, clients who prefer or need extreme privacy, and visiting clients from out of town. All private lessons can be held in the clients home (Raleigh and immediate surrounding area) and are paid in full at the time of scheduling. Individual hour long sessions are $100 each. *Train with a friend and split the cost.

Seminars & Workshops

Host Jason for a day or weekend seminar on a variety of subjects from the healing arts of chi gung to the martial arts of tai chi, hsing i, and ba gua. Contact Jason with a request for a special topic and he will work with you to tailor a lesson plan to fulfill your specific interest.

General Guidelines:

Wear comfortable clothes that don't restrict movement. Try to wear clothes that are quiet, easy on the senses and free of strong scents like fabric softeners or perfume and cologne. Do your best to limit the amount of jewelry worn, if any at all. People who get cold easily may want to bring a sweater or over shirt. Please give a 24 hour notice and reschedule before missing a lesson, otherwise you will be charged for it. *Anyone with medical, emotional or mental conditions should consult a physician or psychotherapist before participating in any Five Element Arts program.

The studio suites feature a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable workspace. These hotels are just minutes away from Jason's studio along with fine dining, shopping, and entertainment. Longevity Breathing

'Longevity Breathing' enhances awareness and increases mental activity. An increased oxygen supply to the cells leads to energy gain with a reduction of common complaints such as concentration disturbances, reduced performance, immune weakness, premature aging and peripheral circulation problems.

All of the practices in 'Longevity Breathing' help to strengthen, energize and heal the body, relieve stress and settle the nervous system.

Energy Gates

The skills developed while learning the 'Opening the Energy Gates of the Body' chi gung set will enable the practitioner to experience their internal landscape and better understand the connection between internal health and the external environment while releasing subtle tensions throughout their body/being.

This practice specifically will enhance all other energetic practices and movement arts.

Heaven & Earth

Practitioners of 'The Marriage of Heaven and Earth' smooth, strengthen and heal many aspects of their being by learning to smoothly open and close the joints and tissues of their body. The Opening and Closing of the body, referred to as 'pulsing', is one of the biggest underlying principals of all phenomenon. This chi gung emphasizes pulsing and attunes the practitioner to one the greatest rhythms of the universe.

All of the practices in 'Heaven and Earth' help to strengthen, energize and heal the body, relieve stress and settle the nervous system.

San Ti - The basic power training posture of hsing-i.

Five Fists - Based on the Five Elements of the universe. Each one of the five element fists is literally the physical manifestation of the element in body and mind.

Linking Form - A form that combines all five of the basic fists into one continuous form.

Ba Gua Zhang

'Eight Trigrams Palm'

Ba Gua Zhang - Pa Kua Chang - Ba Gua Jang

The practice of Ba Gua and Circle Walking is a 4000 year old method of Taoist meditation. Derived from the ancient Chinese Taoist text of the I-Ching.

Circle Walking for Health and Meditation, Study Group - The exercise involves circle-walking with static arm postures.

Water Method Beijing Bagua, Study Group - The choreography, energetics, and fighting techniques of the Water Method of Beijing Ba gua Chuan are studied.

The Eight Mother Palms, Study Group - The choreography, energetics, and fighting techniques of the old eight palms are reviewed and explored.
